Examinator-Production Launch Failed

Launch Failed (PC only)

Situation Comments / Action
Error: Failed reading hostname The software requires to read your computer name at run time. This information is part of your license file and Examinator Production will refuse to run without knowing your computer name. See with your system administrator if your computer doesn't have a name set yet.
Error: Failed reading Ethernet / disk info The software requires to identify the Ethernet boards and disks installed on your system. This is part of the system authentication procedure. Examinator Production needs these information prior to run and check your license file. To fix this issue, you must have at least one Ethernet board in your system.
Runs only if login under Administrator mode This occurs if you did the Examinator Production installation with the Administrator privileges, and didn't edit the Galaxy folder access more to allow non-administrator users. To fix this, simply log as administrator then use the Windows file manager to edit the Galaxy Examinator Production folder and its files privileges to be accessible to all users you want.
Very slow If Examinator is very slow to start and/or very slow to refresh any page then you may notice that running disconnected from the network make the problem disappear. You can easily fix this changing some settings in the network properties section of your computer system [see screen captures]:
orange Open your PC Network Properties
orange Go into the advanced (More) section
orange Delete the entry "Primary DNS suffix of this computer"

Failure after editing your .login If after editing your .login file you experience problems running other applications, then you may remove your Examinator Production related edits, and place them into you .cshrc file instead. If you still face problems, check with your local administrator as the edits requested are really basic and issues during this setup can only be related to your own Unix environment, not Examinator Production .
Error: Can't open qtlib.so You have this error because your environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH (under Solaris) or SHLIB_PATH (under HPUX) doesn't include the path to the galaxy_examinator directory (GEX_PATH). To solve this, edit your .login file in your HOME directory and ensure it includes the following lines (not that for the first line, you should replace /export/home/galaxy_examinator with the real path of GEX on your system). Once your .login file has been edited, run it again (command line: source .login)to have the changes applied:
for Solaris:

setenv GEX_PATH /export/home/galaxy_examinator
setenv PATH $PATH:$GEX_PATH

or for HP-UX:

setenv GEX_PATH /export/home/galaxy_examinator
setenv PATH $PATH:$GEX_PATH

Error: Can't find libCrun.so
(Solaris only)
You have this error if your Solaris installation doesn't include a standard patch library from Sun. This error may be seen on system a bit old and/or not maintained. To fix the problem, simply get the patch file from the Sun web site or take it from galaxy_examinator/sun-patches sub-directory. Then copy the file to any directory listed in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable (default is usually /usr/lib).
Error:  ERROR: HOME variable is not set This error is given by Examinator Production at startup if it can't find the HOME environment variable (this variable is used by Examinator Production to store its settings). To fix this, edit your .login file and ensure it includes a line to define this variable. Once done, have the changes be applied running the command line: source .login
Error:  ERROR: GEX_PATH variable is not set This error is given by Examinator Production at startup if it can't find the GEX_PATH environment variable (this variable is used by Examinator Production to access runtime data files in read mode). To fix this, edit your .login file and ensure it includes a line to define this variable. Once done, have the changes be applied running the command line: source .login
